YUM!!
We have been working in the fruit garden quite a bit over the last few weeks. It has been raining a lot and with the queen's visit and a lack of volunteers it means we haven't been able to dedicate a lot of time to that area of the garden before now. We are now working to take it back from the dreaded Corallita!! All the pathways are now weedwhacked and so we can get around better and while I was on holiday the girls cleared both the big pineapple beds. Next week we will start a small compost area up there so that when we clear we don't have to haul masses of debris all the way down the hill. We can use the compost we make to mulch the beds and keep the weeds at bay a little more.
Lexie - the weedwhacking ninja!
The pineapple bed, you can just seed the huge pile of weeds in the background that came out of this bed.
Also, we had a very successful launch of the green expo at the garden and we got a lot of press coverage. Great publicity for STENAPA and the garden as well. We had about 40 people come to check out the exhibition on Sunday and they gave us some great feedback. It's going to be at the garden until the end of March.
As always, much love from the garden on the golden rock...
