I'm on holiday next week... wooo hoooo... I'm not going anywhere I'm just not having to get up and go to work! I am going to be off all over Christmas and I don't have to work again until the new year!! Not that I will be able to stay out of the garden of course... I will be there sticking my nose in and generally getting in the way at some point I'm sure. I haven't used any of my vacation time this year yet so I am quite tired and in need of a little break and now that Sadie and Alexie (my two new fabulous interns) are all settled in at the garden, they know what they're doing and they totally don't need me!! hee hee
This week we have had some weedwhacker 'issues' again... but Nadio to the rescue, they should be back up and running again for next week... just in time for me to NOT be there to use them... sorry girls ha ha!!
So this week we have been doing some weeding (always needs to be done) and the girls have been doing some overhauling in the veggie patch. We now have onion, tomato, peas, beans, pumpkin, butternut squash, radish, lettuce, rocket, spinach and cucumbers growing... YUM! and there are plans a-foot to repair the chicken coup next week and make it totally foxy-proof. Then all we need to do is catch us some chickens... yes, I know, it has been attempted before with not much success but I have a good feeling about our chances this time... we have befriending some rather lovely chickens at the office and feeding them scraps of our lunch so they think we're harmless... then we'll nab them... it's a cunning plan!!
So this is my last post for the year, we have had a very successful 2011, brand new gardens created, some great people helping us out, royal visitors, it's been really great. Thankyou to everyone who has helped us, I really appreciate all your efforts! We have some very cool things planned for 2012 which I will tell you all about in the new year.
In the meantime, merry Christmas and a very happy and prosperous new year to everyone.. much love from the garden on the golden rock...
