Then and now...

I know that people like to see how the garden is progressing comparing when they were here with what it looks like now. Here are some 'then and now' pics to show you how it's all coming along.

This is the pavilion and front lawn area from about 3 and a half years ago

This is the windbreak below the pavilion now... we have added a rock border and have it filled with Sea Bean.

This is the public pavilion... the coconut is bigger now and the borders round the pavilion have Queen Emma lily and lots of colourful Crotons.

The Travellers Palm in front of the sight arbour in about 2008
Now it's much bigger and we have created a horseshoe shaped bed to house the Spider Lilies and planted Heliconias and Canna Lilies.

These 2 pics are the fruit garden in 2007/8. The ground was just getting cleared but there were no trees planted at this point.

and this is the fruit garden now... it's all grass seeded and the citrus trees are all in place. We also have Bananas, Mango, Coffee, Guava, Pomegranates and Papayas as big as your head!

This was the childrens garden back in 2007 when the different terraces were just bull dozed into place.

and this is what it looks like now... walls in place, play equipment, pavilion, planting etc. We are also putting new beds in now bringing some planting up into the top levels.

but of course not everything in this world gets better with age...

STENAPA truck circa 2007... not perfect but not too bad...
STENAPA truck now... dents, dings, scratches and problems too numerous to mention!

Anyway, thats all for now folks... I will dig out some more old pictures and post some more then and nows another time... of course if anyone out there has any older pictures of the garden they don't mind us sharing that would be great just send them to the email address... statiabotan@gmail.com.

Much love from the garden on the golden rock...
